Fees and Outlay<<
Back to Terms
Where possible we will estimate the amount of our fee and
any outlays payable to others and agree these with you at
the start of any business. If you have any queries, we will
be happy to explain our fee charging structure or any outlays
included in our estimate. We will keep a record of any meetings,
telephone calls, letters, and time spent on your business.
Please bear in mind that generally the more time spent by
us with you in meetings or on the telephone, the higher the
fee we may have to charge, particularly as our fee may be
calculated on a time-charge basis. So it is important that
you use your time with us economically. Finally, we expect
to receive payment from you within thirty days from the issue
of our bill. However, special arrangements can be made for
later payment in certain circumstances upon request.
For standard litigation we will normally require costs on
account to cover the following:
- G.P Report - £65.00
- Full Medical Report - £120.00
- Issuing proceedings in High Court - £155.00
- Issuing proceedings in County Court - £120.00
If your case proceeds in the High Court or County Court, then
the applicable Court Scale will determine our fees. These
costs will depend on the sum claimed in the proceedings. Please
note that if you are not legally aided and you are unsuccessful
in your action, then you will be liable to pay us these costs.
We will advise you if you will be entitled to legal aid.
If your case is one in which requires us to instruct a barrister,
the fees to be charged will be notified to you before instructing
them. Barristers fees are normally payable in advance.
The above terms may be amended by prior arrangement with
the practice.
