Lewis graduated from The Queen's University of Belfast with an Honours Degree in Law in 1985. After Postgraduate Studies at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 1986, he qualified as a Solicitor in 1987, having completed his training with the firm.

After becoming a partner in the practice in the early 1990's the firm's name was changed to Nelson-Singleton Solicitors. A sub-office was opened in Lewis's hometown of Markethill around this time. Lewis is in attendance at the Markethill Office on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

Lewis specialises in Personal Injury and Litigation matters, Domestic Conveyancing and Matrimonial matters.
